Privacy Policy

We collect only what is necessary to operate the site and improve your experience:

Watchlist: If you use the watchlist without an account, your list is stored locally in your browser (localStorage). We do not receive this data on our servers unless you later create an account and choose to sync it.

Account data: If you create an account (e.g. via email or Steam sign-in), we store the identifiers provided by the authentication provider (email, provider user id). We do not store your Steam password.

Technical logs: Our infrastructure may log technical data such as IP address, user-agent, and request paths for security and operations. We do not use these logs to build profiles about you.

Analytics: If we use analytics, we do not include personally identifiable information in the events we track. We may collect aggregated usage data to understand how the site is used.

We use the data above to: operate and maintain the site; provide watchlist and account features; ensure security and prevent abuse; and, where applicable, analyse usage in an aggregated way to improve the service.

Watchlist in localStorage: until you clear it or use a different device or browser.

Account data: until you delete your account or request deletion.

Technical logs: typically up to 12 months, unless a shorter period is required by law or for security investigations.

We use minimal technical means to make the site work:

Cookies: We may use strictly necessary cookies (e.g. session, preferences, security). These do not require consent under applicable law where they are essential for the service.

Currency preference (anonymous users): If you are not logged in and you choose a display currency other than USD (e.g. CAD or EUR) in Settings or the header, we set a cookie named dealradar_cc to remember your choice. It is used only to show prices in your preferred currency. Choosing USD again removes this cookie. Logged-in users store their preferred currency in their account instead; no cookie is used for them.

Local storage: We use browser local storage to store your anonymous watchlist when you are not logged in, and to remember preferences (e.g. theme, language). This data stays on your device.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we introduce optional analytics or non-essential cookies in the future, we will ask for your consent where required (e.g. in the EU). You can manage or delete cookies and local storage via your browser settings.

If you are in the European Economic Area or a jurisdiction with similar rules, you may have the right to: access your data; rectify it; request deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; and data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

We rely on the following types of service providers: hosting (e.g. Vercel), database and authentication (e.g. Supabase), and optionally analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. Some may be located outside your country; we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) where required.

Dealradar is not affiliated with Valve Corporation or Steam. Game-related data (prices, player counts, metadata) comes from public or official Steam sources. We do not share your personal data with Valve beyond what is necessary to use Steam sign-in if you choose that option.
